Just a short answer to Thomas… I had the same problem until I realised my email password was different to the MSN messenger one, maybe that's your problem too. Use your own outgoing server and unchecking the box for outgoing SSL. It has been just fine for years under outlook express. A time-out occurred while communicating with the server.
