So, Enabling SNMP is not at all mandatory on the device running PRTG (Running both PRTG Core and Probe). Snmp Port Basically, the #2003 sensor indicates that the requests ran into a timeout, this might happen due to an overload of the target device which might lead to a lower prioritization for If I have Probe and Server running on same Machine, then are there any Port issues related to them? Can you try additional scanning the device with SNMPUtil ( http:www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc/testing.htm )? Use at your own risk. On my Linux box, in my snmpd.conf file there was a setting like this: view systemview included .1.3.6.1.2.1 This limits the systemview to OID's that fall under this section only.

All is fine..

Use at your own risk. I change it to: view systemview included .1 and re-started snmpd. Where do they come from? Does anyone have any idea if i am missing any settings on the prtg monitor or the windows server 2008?

What can I do? tried restarting, opening ports, disabling fw on both computers, and still nothing. Add comment Created on Oct 15, 2010 9:20:10 AM by Patrick Hutter [Paessler Support] (7,144) ●3 ●3 Permalink Votes:0 Your Vote: Up Down No, I dont want to monitor traps, It http://unordic.com/snmp-error/snmp-tester-error-2003.html This will improve the stability and might also help to prevent SNMP #2003 errors.

I even checked by SNMPTester and that is working really fine that means there is no blockage for SNMP on the network. As it stands right now it looks like it is not able to connect, but I know the ports 161 & 162 are not being blocked. PRTG SNMP Tester Tool:http://www.paessler.com/tools/snmptesterSNMP portion of Does the Uptime Sensor communicate with the port the same as the Traffic Sensor? Then please also check if PRTG (or the PC on which PRTG is installed) is allowed to send SNMP Requests to the device in case.

As to your queries: 1. I also tried changing both of them on Interface IP but it did not work. I also consider it safe to run probe on 127.0.0.1 rather than on Ethernet Interface IP.
