Tried all kind of different settings in Samba but made no difference (forced users, groups, acl changes, etc.). I think it's a Windows thing about it storing the password or not. I am receiving the same error weather I specify username/password or guest. I'm stumped. Open the CMD prompt with administrator rights and type in: sc stop LanmanServer sc start LanmanServer That solution came from Here Now hopefully windows is ready to go. - if yy makes a directory, xx cannot … - the problem arises because there is always a group xx generated.

Are you work in domain environment? Now restart the LanmanServer to apply the registry settings. I can browse to the machine from Windows 7, authenticate as 'kevin' and see my home directory share and the upload share but I can't access them. Not the answer you're looking for?
